Benno Sökeland Malerei
Benno Sökeland
Art should be fun, art should make a statement, art should inspire, please, and ideally all at once. Benno Sökeland paints whatever comes to mind. He paints his view of the world sometimes figuratively, realistically – sometimes expressively, even abstractly or experimentally. Some works approach fantastic realism, as their beginnings stem from his enthusiasm for Surrealism. Often, the artist has a concrete idea or vision of the painting even before he begins its execution. With a quote from Anthony Paul Moo-Young, known as Mooji, the artist defines his position on the world: "You don't see the world as it is, you see the world as you are."
