In Art Florinela Dares
Florinela Bocsa
She finds oil colours, canvas and brushes as the most powerful tools for the deepest expression. For her, colours on canvas have always been the best alternative for self exploration and best creating means. Centuries old techniques of classical art, pave the way into adventurous, playful grounds, allowing Florinela to materialize concepts of our modern world, beautifully wrapped in a timeless oil colour coating Although the paint brush is her main tool, a wide array of unconventional improvised utensils play part in creating the beautiful, intricate layered patterns found in her paintings. Everything in sight could be a potencial instrument.Amongst the unique devices used are : torn peaces of cloth, hands, fingers and fingernails, rhinestones and feathers, crafting or bricklayer's tools, wax candles, castor oil, mediums, vermion, damarand diferent emolsions found in the art isle at any major stores. Taking inspiration from her environment, Florinela uses all available resources in order to incorporate volume, transparencies and textures into her artwork. Although Florinela prefers to work on big size canvas, as it allows for very fine detailed work, medium and small sized pieces allow for simplicity and concrete concepts to take quick shape. The most recurring subject in her paintings are WOMEN as she sees them: beautiful, powerful, explosive, sexual, elegant and vibrant. This is seconded by self portraits, which could be considered as a direct expression of her inner feelings more than the realism in her shape. This being the two major subjects covered by the artist, but not the only ones. As a brave, experimental woman, Florinela ventures into unknown waters often, taking on commissioned artwork which can challenge and excite her.
Florinela says: Oil on canvas has always been my most comfortable zone medium to work with, the most organic and movable to handle. And i do have enormous respect towards all the quality artwork available to this days, media and information, to pick up the most important elements and techniques i feel in need to explore, in order to recreate most accurate as possible the visions that i have, and create in my mind. And they are all organic and dynamic, it pushes binderies and challenges me to learn how to recreate it, find techniques and ways to take it out. Like a discomposed hyper realistic photography that replicates in your own perspective and needs to be transformed to touchable, to vision.
Oil medium gives me confidence because of the movement. It’s always a way to work on top of a mistake, remove it and add another layer to it. It’s always in movement, and it gives me confidence enough because of the ability to change. And because I’m very energetic when i usually paint, i feel the need to work with dynamic, repair a mistake on top of another until I’m pleasantly satisfied with my vision, of what i need to achieve. Therefore my still very favourite tools are oil paintbrushes and spatula and objects i could create forms with. Collage to add texture on the final touches when i feel the need to materialise to almost touchable objects, accentuate details. I use to recreate the movement i need in that moment. I am a great Fashion Art passionate and i feel the need to express it into my paintings. It gives me sense of freedom and perspective. Allows me to pick up more tools and elements and keep adding objects like Rhinestones, feathers, pearls, fabrics that creates texture. I’m always playing it as final touches and when i feel it’s needed after a drying process of the paint and varnish.
Fashion industry has always been challenging in every aspect, from Politics to Cinema industry, from Music Industry to Theatre and Opera. It changed concepts and history. Fashion industry it s so expressive and complex, and incredible to explore. To me, it s like a recreation in motion Realtime of emotions and fantasies.
