Adios Armarda
Inspired by the little sketch of the single galleon, I went bigger, bolder and more dramatic with this canvas "Adios Armada" showing a group of the galleons heading off into battle. There is also a You Tube video showing its creation.
Galleon in the mist
This initial sketch of a single old galleon setting sail on the stormy seas was the inspiration for a much larger piece of a full armada setting sail. The painting is on canvas board so it needs framing to be able to hang it.
Road bridge into Sept-Forges in Normandy, France
This painting was inspired by sketches done on location looking at the bridge on the road into the village of Sept-Forges in Normandy.
The painting continues around the edges of the canvas frame so there is no need to frame the painting.

People portraits
Commission the ultimate in unique gifts - a painted portrait of the special person in your life. They are painted from your favourite photo, but it requires a good quality colour head and shoulders photograph to work from.
Norris, the Northern Saw Whet Owl
I love owls and seeing photos of him peeping out from branches laden with the ripe and juicy berries that he was about to feast upon, I just had to paint him.
Swan family
The graceful adult swans protectively encircling little cygnets is "in the style of Monet" and they were photographed on the lake in the spa town of Bagnoles-de-L'Orne which is only a few hours' drive from Monet's last home in Giverny.
Grande Cascade in Normandy, France
The Grande Cascade is one of a trio of pastel pictures on black paper exploring the depiction of white water using white soft pastel to show the movement of the water as it tumbles down the cascade and over the rocks.

Sunset Skyscape at Town Lane, Kew, Southport
Dramatic colours to match the dramatic sunset I saw at the end of a walk in the park. The colours and cloud shapes filled the sky whichever way I looked so I just had to paint them on a long, thin canvas to capture the full panorama before us.
