Born in the Highlands of Scotland I love vibrant colours and the unique colour spectrum of the Gaelic language which inspires my painting. My works often use a marbling technique to float oil paint on water and are embellishing with alkyd oils, gold, glass or foil.

Alkyd oil on Claessens linen. Made by floating the oil paint on a waterbath and dipping the canvas then embellished by embedding tiny millifiore beads in drops of alkyd oil.

This was made by floating oil paint on a jelly of carrageen (algae) and finished with alkyd oils and real gold foil.
